First of all, thank you so much
Cuckoo for inviting me for the photography competition at your blog. To be frank, most of my photographs reflects my mood and my third eye’s presence around me at that moment and I really don’t think they were/are the best shoot for a competition. But again, if somebody finds it giving worth a look then I am glad to share them. So Cuckoo, I am honored, when you say I can “give tough competition to others” :)
Coincidentally, the subject ‘Sunrise – Sunset’ that she has picked for the current month is one of my favorite shoot times. I have hundreds of photographs for the moment from various places and it’s really a hard task for me to pick one out of them because to me all looks great and the same :P. And as always, I have the same question remains inside my mind, how somebody can distinguish between the Sunrise and the Sunset just by looking at those pictures? is there any way I can do that ? Well, I never have a satisfactory answer.
Alright, enough searches for the answer and here you go with the picture from my gallery for Sunrise …
A background of this photo, I was on a trip in Dec 07, to this amazingly beautiful place called Puri, and it also happened to have the most beautiful beaches in India. It was morning around 6.20 AM, walking along side the beach I could see a new world around me, it was having the hope in every rays that touched this life and smiling back that it can never be still, it has to move on. And I reminding myself one of the favorite quote – “We can only appreciate the miracle of a sunrise if we have waited in the darkness”.
P.S : Oops !! Sorry for the confusion. Actually, I had to post a photo of sunrise only, so as per Cuckoo I edited the post accordingly. But now I don’t want to delete this Sunset picture from the post as it is one of my favs, so I am leaving it as it is :) to add to the never ending question or say the confusion. Look at the pictures and see how difficult it is to distinguish between the Sunrise & the Sunset. Perhaps its the creator's, the almighty's wish to retain the same looks for both of them but giving two completely different meanings and both of them have their own representation and significance here. One brings the light and one takes it away...
To give a background of this photo, I have clicked it in the trip to Orissa in April 08. I was standing almost at the center of the riverbed of Rushikulya around 5.20 P.M when my third eye was able to capture the reflection of golden rays on the lazily moving water of the river.
From my blog; some of my favorite collection of photographs of Sunrise moments (on eastern cost of India) can be found here. Likewise, a collection of Sunset moments (on the south-western coast) can be found here.
