You Are Unique “Searching for an Identity”

While browsing thorough the Internet, I found a very interesting and meaningful article. Sometime though, it surprises me why these articles don’t have an author name but same time find a new way to explore the unknown mind. I think probably this could be another way of spreading the uniqueness among us.

Enjoy that uniqueness. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You weren't meant to be like someone else. You do not have to lie to conceal the parts of you that are not like what you see in anyone else.

You were meant to be different. Nowhere ever in all of history will the same things be going on in anyone's mind, soul and spirit as are going on in yours right now. If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap in history, something missing from the plan for humankind. Treasure your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you. Enjoy it and share it!

  • No one can reach out to others in the same way that you can.
  • No one can speak your words.
  • No one can convey your meanings.
  • No one can comfort with your kind of comfort.
  • No one can bring your kind of understanding to another person.
  • No one can be cheerful and lighthearted and joyous in your way.
  • No one can smile your smile.
  • No one else can bring the whole unique impact of you to another human being.
Share your uniqueness. Let it be free to flow out among your family and friends and people you meet in the rush and clutter of living wherever you are. That gift of yourself was given you to enjoy and share. Give yourself away!

See it! Receive it! Let it tickle you! Let it form you and nudge you and inspire you!

Lesson(s) in life - A reason to smile

I don’t know the name of author for this nice message that I received today as a forwarded mail. I just wanted to put it in my blog as it has everyway of inspiring life. Also it has lots of meaning to it and certainly shows the various ways of leanings from life.

Every one of us has different way of expressing the meaning of life. When I say life it’s constitute not only the individual but also the people around, who are always a reason for the change. So here goes the message ....

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be - your roommate, neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you and at the time they may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles, you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity - all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life and the successes and downfalls you experience - they are the ones who create who you are. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. Those lessons are the hardest and probably the most important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either. You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

Thought for the Day !!

To be trusted is a greater compliment, than to be loved.

Why Life Sucks ?

I got a call from a long lost friend who on many occasions blames others for his faults and things that he never had a control. I wonder, what might be his expectations form life and things he is doing in life. Sometimes it sounds like me sheer waste of time and some other times as if time has stopped for him. After I finished the conversation with him, I recalled couple of things that I want to share here.

- Why someone loses the excitement in all forms of the work he/she is doing?
- Why someone started seeing things the other way round and then blame something else for them life sucks ?

And I believe these questions and similar other questions started with a “Why” that make things more complicated in life than ever. In life we have always two ways to go for the destination; for sure only one path, the first one leads to the destination, and the other no one knows where it leads.

The very selfishness of the person when ignore things happening around always follows the latter path. Maybe life sucks because we are mindless primates like to live in small tribal groups hunting for food and unknown pleasure. Perhaps our pain is the natural result of our living in an unnatural environment.

Who is responsible for this ?

Whatever we see need not follow the path of truth as most of the things in life are yet to be explored. And for that we need to have the eyes that can see the things the way they are ..., so what really makes a difference is the take away from time to time. We may take a long time to realize and understand ourselves, but it takes the whole life to retain it in this ever changing world.

Conclusion, I am made up of my thoughts, so unless they change it’s difficult that I will change.

Quote(s) of the day !! Friends

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

A friend can tell you things you don't want to tell yourself.

Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

We are all travellers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend.

Better personality for better performance (4 Key Points)

Source : Joshy Thomas

Personality and performance are closely related. Wrong type of personality will cause undesirable tension and worries in families, organisations, and societies. It is the root cause of all tensions, strikes and unrest. It leads to turnovers and job dissatisfactions.

The only way to improve our performance is by improving our personalities.

What is personality?

Personality is the study of the unique traits of an individual. The word ‘personality’ comes from the Latin word ‘persona’ meaning ‘mask’. Thus personality came to be associated with a person's outward appearance. But today we know that personality doesn't mean external appearances alone. It is rather a dynamically organized totality of personal traits, which distinguish one individual from another. It is the total picture of the person, consisting of his inner and outer being.

Personality consists of the four dimensions of a person: physical, social, mental and spiritual. If you want to develop your personality you need to develop these four areas of your life. Our performance and success depends on how well we develop and integrate these four aspects of our personality.

1. Physical dimension

The physical dimension plays an important role in the development of one's personality. A good, healthy physique can enhance one's personality and self-esteem. It includes your health, strength and withstanding capacity and not your physical structure, colour and beauty.

It also concerns how you present yourself to others: your dress code, lifestyle, behaviour, etc. The better dressed you are the more sure you are to attract people to you. People have become conscious of their physique today and they frequent gyms and go for exercises to keep themselves fit and healthy. We communicate our personality by the way we walk, stand, sit, talk, look and act. All that we do communicates the level of our personality.

Learning to keep oneself fit and healthy and to present oneself in a decent and socially acceptable manner is an art a person needs to learn in order to develop a better personality.

2. Social dimension

It refers mainly to one's ability to relate to others. Human beings are social beings. We can't live as islands. We need to relate and communicate with others if we want to improve our performance and become better human beings. We need to learn the art of creating lasting and effective relationships in today's world of use and throw away culture.

We need to develop our communication skills and plant in ourselves the seeds of social values like equality, justice, fairness etc. A person who loves and cares for the others has a great personality. You will never be forgotten for your humanitarian services.

If you dislike others they too will dislike you. Construct good relationships with those around you and they will stand by you when you least expect. You need to become more an extrovert who is sociable, talkative, assertive and supportive. Give joy to everyone; smile always and more so when things go wrong.

3. Mental dimension

It refers to the intellectual capacity of a person. A person who is intuitive, intelligent, clever and creative is always wanted in a society. They are admired by others for their discoveries, innovations and excellent minds. Use your common sense, brain and imagination to become more creative and innovative. People admire you if you are intelligent and smart. Take risks and challenges and be willing to walk the road less travelled. People admire such tough people with character and commitment.

A person with high goals has a better personality. He aims high and people will hold him in high esteem even if he doesn't reach his dream. Have high goals but be filled with humility.

It also means that we need to have a positive mental attitude. Think positive about yourself and about others. Treat everyone with utmost respect and esteem. See something good in everybody and in everything. Also create a positive atmosphere around you. People then will love your company and will admire your personality.

4. Spiritual dimension

It refers to how you uphold values and principles of life and how you relate with the divine person. It is a great power that all of us have within us, which guides our conscience and behaviour. It expresses itself in our moral values and sense of duty, responsibility and accountability. It gives us the power for self-confidence, leadership, initiatives, willpower and self-discipline.

It makes us authentic and genuine when we are alone and in the company of others. Our spiritual dimension gets reflected in our sincerity, honesty, truthfulness, kindness and gentleness. A deep union with the divine person and selfless love for humanity enhances our personality.

Control your emotions if you want to be a hero. If you want to be admired by others you must learn to control your fear, anxiety, hatred, anger, jealousy, suspicion and pessimism etc. Express instead plenty of positive emotions like love, kindness, hope, loyalty, trust and optimism etc.

We need to have good personalities to attract, enthuse, influence, motivate and lead the others and us and to reach the optimum performance level. Our success depends more on our personality and very little on our knowledge and resources. It is said that a person with a magnanimous personality can brighten the room he enters. He can sooth, calm and thrill the people.

Success and performance will come to us when we develop in us pleasing, attractive and winning personalities. We need to improve our personalities first to improve our performance.

Quote(s) of the Day !! Truth

Learn not the truth of the Self save from one who has realized it; in all others it is mere talk. Realization is beyond virtue and vice, beyond future and past, beyond all the pairs of opposites. “The stainless one sees the Self, and an eternal calm comes to his soul.” Talking, arguing, and reading books, the highest flights of intellect, the Vedas themselves – all these cannot give the Knowledge of the Self.

Quote(s) of the Day !! Dreams

  • Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.
  • Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.

Quote(s) of the Day !! Life

  • Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.
  • The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream ...
  • Never dwell on what you have lost, only on what you have left. Count your blessings. You’ll always find plenty. Your most prized possessions are your unexpired years.

Gift for a Friend ...

Time is a very important thing in our life, as every one of us has only a fixed amount of it. This makes it more valuable then anything else and it makes more sense when we realize the importance of it in our day-to-day life. Surely it becomes one of the measure for things in one's life.

One of the other important measurement in life could be how many friends one has in the span and this is how one can tell if someone is your friend or if you are someone's friend, remembering that time itself is the most precious gift one could give/receive to/from a friend…

Law's of Life (15 Points)

Source : Swami Vivekananda

  • Love Is The Law Of Life: All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
  • It's Your Outlook That Matters: It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.
  • Life is Beautiful: First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!
  • It's The Way You Feel: Feel like Christ and you will be a Christ; feel like Buddha and you will be a Buddha. It is feeling that is the life, the strength, the vitality, without which no amount of intellectual activity can reach God.
  • Set Yourself Free: The moment I have realised God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him - that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.
  • Don't Play The Blame Game: Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers, and let them go their own way.
  • Help Others: If money helps a man to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better.
  • Uphold Your Ideals: Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.
  • Listen To Your Soul: You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.
  • Be Yourself: The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!
  • Nothing Is Impossible: Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin - to say that you are weak, or others are weak.
  • You Have The Power: All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.
  • Learn Everyday: The goal of mankind is knowledge... now this knowledge is inherent in man. No knowledge comes from outside: it is all inside. What we say a man 'knows', should, in strict psychological language, be what he 'discovers' or 'unveils'; what man 'learns' is really what he discovers by taking the cover off his own soul, which is a mine of infinite knowledge.
  • Be Truthful: Everything can be sacrificed for truth, but truth cannot be sacrificed for anything.
  • Think Different: All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.

My Comments :

I can say life always gives us a chance to learn and identify oneself in this beautiful world. Those who learned it for them it's always a success. It’s more like what we tried then what we get it from life.
