Actions speaks louder ...
" Never wait for the proper mood to start a thing, nor until the spirit moves you. Make your own mood. Make your own spirit. How? ACT. Do something – anything. Inspiration seldom generates action. Action always creates inspiration. "

Mantra for great work(s)
" Of all great works, nine-tenths must be drudgery. Edison put it at 99%. Edmund Burke worked 22 hours at one stretch on one speech ... pure drudgery. Kepler filled 600 pages with figures to learn the skies … all drudgery. Genius and talents may start great projects, but only drudgery can finish them. "

Answer(s) for success ...
" Let no sleep fall upon your eyes until you’ve reviewed the acts of the day. What did I forget or do wrong? Think up a way to avoid it in the future. What more could I have done or done better? Asking questions of yourself impels you to think for the answers. "

Why Be Great ?
Source : Robin's Blog
Sure it takes effort/discipline and gigantic focus to get to world-class (and live your greatest life). Sure leadership is about doing what's right versus easy. And I agree that success requires sacrifices. So why do it? Because it'll make you feel good. Which makes it all worth it.The big idea: playing below your potential makes you feel bad about yourself. Operating below your potential diminishes your self-respect. Limiting what you can do/be/have sucks the energy out of your spirit and knocks the passion out of your heart.
Climbing your personal and professional mountaintop makes you feel good about yourself. Boost your self-respect. Heighten your self-image. Fills you with energy and faith. And joy.
Achievement and getting superb things done with the gifts that are within you is one of the best ways to fill your life with more happiness.Being great - even when it's not easy to do so - is a brilliant move. That yields handsome rewards. Always.

Your Quest for Success !!
By : Joel Weldon
Remember the children's story of "The Little Red Hen?" The Hen found a grain of wheat (opportunity) and decided to make bread (success). She then proceeded to take the proper steps to plan and prepare for her desired result. She planted the grain, tended, watered, and harvested it. She took the wheat to the mill to be ground into flour. She made the dough, let it rise, and, finally, put it in the oven to bake. At each step in the process, she asked her neighbours, "who would like to help me . . . ?" And, each time they responded, "Not I!"
Finally, the bread was ready. She set it on the window sill to cool and its sweet scent floated up and down the street. "And now," she said, "who will help me eat the bread?" All her neighbours responded enthusiastically, "I will!"
"No," said the little red hen, "I will eat it myself." And she did.
We may think the hen was rather harsh in not sharing the bread with her friends. But, in reality, no one can give you success. No one can do the preparation, planning, and the work for you. If we are to achieve true excellence, we must take responsibility for our own success and do the work to make it happen. Here are four steps to help each of us in our quest for success.
Plan - The old saying is still true, "if you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else." No one can effectively achieve an objective that he or she doesn't have clearly defined. Think things through. Decide what you want, and write out your plan. Only then can you do as Dr. Stephen R. Covey suggests, "begin with the end in mind."
Prepare - We all know things that we could be doing right now to prepare ourselves to reach our objectives. Study, practice, take a class, exercise, listen to tapes, nurture a relationship, read that book. The important thing is to do something today that will make the path smoother tomorrow.
Perform - David Schwartz made this simple but profound statement, "the only way to start, is to start." The simple fact is that the best laid plans, the most comprehensive preparation, can still lead to nothing unless we take action. It doesn't have to be perfect. Dr. Norman Vincent Peale observed, "If you put off everything until you're sure of it, you'll get nothing done." Nike has the right idea in their simple slogan, "Do it!
Persist - Will we have adversity? Yes! Challenges? Of course! The difference between the successful person and the one stalked by failure is not the adversity -- we all have that. The difference is your response. Do we regroup and hit it hard again, or do we lie down and quit? Setbacks can be the foundation upon which we build future success or the final excuse for failure -- the decision is yours.

Golden Rules for Career Success (36 Points) !!
By : Richard Moran
1. Keep track of what you do; someone is sure to ask.
2. Never bring your boss a problem without some solution.
3. You are getting paid to think, not to whine.
4. Long hours don't mean anything; results count, not effort.
5. Write down ideas; they get lost, like good pens.
6. Always arrive at work 30 minutes before your boss.
7. Help other people network for jobs. You never know when your turn will come.
8. Don't take days off sick-unless you are.
9. Assume no one can/will keep a secret.
10. Know when you do your best-morning, night, under pressure, relaxed; schedule and prioritise your work accordingly.
11. Treat everyone who works in the organization with respect and dignity, whether it be the cleaner or the managing director. Don't ever be patronizing.
12. Never appear stressed in front of a client, a customer or your boss.
13. Take a deep breath and ask yourself: In the course of human events, how important is this?
14. If you get the entrepreneurial urge, visit someone who has his own business. It may cure you.
15. Acknowledging someone else's contribution will repay you doubly.
16. Career planning is an oxymoron. The most exciting opportunities tend to be unplanned.
17. Always choose to do what you'll remember ten years from now.

Learn from Mistakes
Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, "All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing."
Edison replied very confidently, "Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We now, that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb."

Attitude speaks ...
By : Rev. Charles Swindoll
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, then circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.

Positive Power of Humor
By: Jerry Aragon
For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed making people laugh, whether it be by telling a joke; carving a piece of wood; writing an anecdote; or by building my website.
Writing; wood carving and photography are not my passions ... HUMOR is my passion because:
* Humor is the best medicine to stay happy and healthy, but we all knew that already.
* Humor can help to reduce stress, and can aid in the healing process.
* Humor can help all of us to cope in the most depressing of situations and darkest of days.
* Research has shown that the punch line, can increase the bottom line.
* Humor can help to create a positive work place, which can be excellent for creativity and idea development. Humor and creativity jest seem to go together.
* The ability to laugh at ourselves, at all the crazy and silly things we all say and do, is healthy for our well-being.
* Humor can help bring people together, and that is important in the work place, because teamwork is a top priority.
* Humor can help us all to cope with the aging process.
So, my advice to everyone out there is to take plenty of vitamin H on a daily basis.
Humor helps to make us all feel good, and can help to lift our spirits...jest for the health of it!
Love; peace; humor; trust freedom; honor; friendship...it's nice to be a part of some of the most important words in the world...

I am thankful ... for ... (12 Points)
I am thankful ...
1. For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.
2. For the mess to clean after a party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
3. For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
4. For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.
5. For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning because it means I have a home.
6. For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have freedom of speech.
7. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
8. For the noise I have to bear from my neighbours because it means that I can hear.
9. For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.
10. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.
11. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am still alive.
12. For received e-mails because it means I have friends who are thinking of me, at least.
Never dwell on what you have lost, only on what you have left. Count your blessings. You’ll always find plenty. Your most prized possessions are your unexpired years.

Don't let the cups drive you
Source : unknown
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups -porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups.
Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."
Don't let the cups drive you... Enjoy the coffee instead.

Your Environment Becomes You
Source : Robin's Blog
You will become your surroundings. So choose them well.
- The people you associate and the conversations you have profoundly shape your thinking and actions. Be with people greater than you and you will become a greater person.
- Fill your home with great books and you will rise to meet the promise (and possibilities) they offer.
- Eat great/healthy food and your physical life will reflect that association.
- Place yourself in and around the best. And you'll become it.

Be a Finisher
Source : Robin's Blog
Talk is cheap. Actions speak.
Doesn't matter what you start. Brilliant that you have the courage to take that first step (nothing changes until you change). But what's the point of starting if you don't finish?
Leadership and greatness comes to those who follow-through. Who stand for near-flawless execution. Who stay with a project/pursuit/idea with the tenacity of a pit bull-until the thing gets done. Beautifully.
So right here, right now, reach deep into your heart. And commit from the best place that inhabits you - to finish the important things you start. Because anyone can take the first step. But only the remarkable ones stay on the path until they complete the 1000th one.

The Dream Catcher
Source : Robin's Blog
You may not know how powerful you are. Big idea: Every one of us has so many more choices than we can currently see. Remember, we see the world not as it is but as we are. Most of us see through the eyes of our fears and our limiting beliefs and our false assumptions. Really important point there. As you begin to walk to your fears, you realize that they were mostly hallucinations - self created illusions that kept you small. As you think about your limiting beliefs, you'll see that they are not the truth but the opinions you adopted from the chattering voices around you. And as you question your assumptions, you'll realize that so many of them are borne of fantasy. They are not real. Nope, not at all. Most of the things we are afraid will happen never do. Something to think about.

Hello World !!!
I believe life is a thread of continuous journeys one after another; journeys where you run, walk, stumble, drive and fly, or lose yourself at many places and times. But you hold your nerves, back yourself not to lose the sight of the reasons for the journey or never miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way before you are rewarded with the destination. In the end; the pains become your fuel, the confidence become your strengths, the flashing moments become your ideas and the smiles become your success for this journey. And then the joy of being with life and walking together is something that I can’t put it here in words :)
So here I am with the bit of me bingeing with my ‘Hello World’ attempt here to share the tiny experiences of life and continuing with my attempts to see this unseen world around me as never before.
Thank you!
