I Support Earth Hour, Do You?

I am growing old every day, so do everyone else but then the world around me changing very fast, or even faster than I can imagine. I have learned it and experienced it in my life maybe on more than one occasion that the big will not beat the small any more; it’s the small that become the big. So what is that stopping you to fight the big challenges and distracting you to take the first small step out from your life?

Not to forget a small initiative can do great things for us. It’s never been one challenging task to understand we wish to see the life even after us, save the earth and save the future. Soon you will learn again, it’s that fast beating the slow. So all you need to do, stretch your legs, open your arms and free your mind to join, which would very well mark a new beginning for this never ending life.

What is earth hour?
Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund) that asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness of the need to take action on climate change. Last year more than 50 million people took part and in 2009, the aim is to reach more than 1 billion people in 1,000 cities around the world.

Show your support:
Join the millions around the globe by switching off the lights at your home at 8:30 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, March 28, for an hour.

By working together, each of us can make a positive impact in the fight against climate change and save our planet, for future generations.

A rainy day in the summer!

I woke up early in the morning with a prayer, just to witness another new day in my life. It has been an unfinished journey ever since I started counting on my days. I have just crossed one more mile stone and these 365 days is nothing more than experiencing the life in every possible ways.

One more day, one more year and one more opportunity encountered with the life. The joy of re-discovering it, believe in giving always the best you can, the pleasures of being simple and all it seems less complicated life & the world around breaths the new air.

“Gravity, release me, and don’t ever hold me down ... Now my feet won't touch the ground”.

A sailing quote!

Picture : Sunrise at Puri.

I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving. To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.

Don't close your eyes ... This is your life ...

Yesterday is a wrinkle on your forehead
Yesterday is a promise that you've broken
Don't close your eyes, don't close your eyes
This is your life and today is all you've got now
Yeah, and today is all you'll ever have
Don't close your eyes
Don't close your eyes

This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose ...

Yesterday is a kid in the corner
Yesterday is dead and over

This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose.

Don't close your eyes
Don't close your eyes
Don't close your eyes
Don't close your eyes...

This is your life are you who you want to be
This is your life are you who you want to be

This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose

And you had everything to lose.

Life in pieces

“In a blink moment life is, a fatal was not, what life could be? A dark sky, a shinny sun or a smile in flash that re-discover the life, and no pain shall be painful.

I cut myself into pieces to find the joy in simple things, believe in giving, learn to fly and touch the stars. My blood is drying out gradually but still I am breathing the wild air to witness a less complicated world & the life looks happier (or I say peaceful) than before…

The December!

Seconds, minutes, hours and days were passed by me just like that and now when I look back I have already completed living one more year of my life. A year filled with the little pains which helped me to understand what it takes to be alive?, the failures that made me a stronger person than before, the successes that encouraged me keep on moving, and last but not the least a bucket full of memories that reminds me of this journey. So far so good, oh! maybe I don’t have anything to regret for the roads I have travelled, the places I stumbled up on, the paths I crossed, the people I met on my way, for the life I learned to live and appreciate whatever happens is for some reasons in our lives and only then we able to identify what actually we are & then the dreams are not too far from the reality.

The reality I live, I have always told myself that the world is nothing more or less than the image that you can create for yourself out of it. It’s my own world and I cherish every moment spent here. Looking at the retiring calendar hanging on the right hand side of my room’s wall, year after year, I have learned that each one of them has a purpose in it for us, to accomplish certain things that will determine where we are heading for … There was one such day for everyone of us to recognize that we have done something not just to prove anybody else then ourselves, followed by a quick realization that still a long way to go but you have taken the much needed step for it. Possibly, I can recall one such day of this year. I maybe blessed on many occasions but certainly the beginning of this year unveiled me a darker side of the life where I struggled to fight back for quite sometime before I could accept the impossible truth that there exists no life beyond your own imagination. Nevertheless, the beauty of life is that it demands from you only the strength you posses. A flash moment in life and then happened a series of good things here and there which eventually became part of the rollercoaster ride I am on.

Personally, I would like to count the year 2008 for everything that can come to my mind, a mixed bag. And with the countdown for the New Year 2009 is already started, amidst the global economic meltdown and around the chaos of terror attacks, finally found some reasons to cheer up and we at workplace celebrated this December together.

So I am hoping & wishing you all Merry Christmas and a very happy & prosperous New Year in advance.

P.S : I am back to business & gradually recovering from the bloody cold.

Life and death

Life and death are the two simple words that have myriad of meanings in it, and someone can easily relate these words with so many things or course of events happen around him/her. One is antonym to the other but both are part of the ultimate truths we are guided with. Wait! I am not trying to find a new definition for them but it is the topic of this month at Cuckoo’s Photo Gallery and so I am back here again with one such pic …

The picture was taken inside one of the pandals created on the occasion of Durga puja. There was this centere place inside the pandal for people to light up the lamp and offer their prayer to the goddess Durga, when my turn came on that evening I was quite amazed by seeing the faith that people were showing for these lights. The lamps burns until the last drop of ghee and spreads the warmth, to live with a hope. But if you don’t light it properly; no matter how much ghee is inside the lamp, it will extinguish quickly like a spark in the clouds.

People light their lamps to see it burning, they see their life gathering an invisible power from it, and they feel blessed. They move on with this light but they tend to forget which lamp had given them it.

The lamp (like a body) is matter to the soul, and light is an act or form (like the soul) to the potentiality of the body. The body may demise after certain duration but the soul will remain as the principle account the cause of existence of the life. They both represent the cycle of life, and death being the final completion of a transforming process.

Left, right & Life!

You are different, your world is different and so your life is different. Every one of us here has something more to say about life and the lessons learnt from it. Maybe we already know some of them or maybe we are yet to know about everything that might happen in the life. So knowing others perspective on life is as important as your own. Whether it’s good, bad, ugly or beautiful you will identify only if you go on with the ones, having a bit of you in it :) See the difference; see a new world around you and explore it.

My search begins with me ... Well! Life is like a WINDOWS operating system where you can find an 'EXPLORER' key to identify what is there inside the folders that every time you made some changes to it. So keep checking in it. It’s your life and it’s your search. And In the end, …

In the very beginning of my life, I wanted to have answers for everything. But now I respect the fact that I can’t have answer for everything … - Paulo Coelho

Hey, rains come again :)

It was one of those hectic week at my work place and barely able to find time to do anything else apart from the office works. Imagine, coming back from office and you even don’t feel like removing those cloths or searching for the right one and just like that go to bad to signal that end of day; the very next day you find your things are scattered everywhere inside the house; the books, clothes and everything else :). Oh! I realized then at times we also need to be focused on balancing the time for works at home is also important. But again it’s an art that we learn everyday and try to improve everyday. Yeah! The good thing is that I am not tired of doing all those works and until now nobody has complained about it, hopefully I can finish them over the coming weekend.

Yesterday, I thought of starting at the usual time from office (work hours) and luckily I did manage to do so. I don’t know whether it was by luck or something … I encountered with some real special things, the memories where refreshed and without no time the child inside me took over the control :). Can you guess who are they? Yeah! you are right, clouds and rains :P... Do I really need to say that they are the welcome guest in B’lr and they don’t follows anybody’s time rule (ummmh! maybe only one person’s). Not so surprisingly! it was started pouring heavily, just when people were on their way to catch the buses/cabs parked around the campus. I noticed that all of a sudden most of them rushed to the opposite direction finding a place to shed. When I reached the at ground floor entrance/exit corridor to discover a crowd, that was already waiting there for rains to stop (I guess they were the most affected ones :) ). Some of them were mumbling ufff this rain ... blah blah ...

I already had a glimpses of the rain while coming down the stairs and that was enough for me to knowledge the nature's call without being wasting any more time to disappear with the crowd ;). And as usual my third eye was quite alerted not to miss any of those awing moments.

my favorite ...

I walked slowly towards the crowd to find a narrow path, and there I go ... on my way soaking the rain water, enjoying the rhythms, feeling the touch of the silvery drops, gradually losing yourself with the amazingly weather surrounding and then leaving behind some shouts from unseen faces... Hahahahah!!!

I know an inspired soul can do amazing stuffs :) and the weather needs no words.

on way back; I was at cloud 9 :D

'Kya aapko K.I.L.B hai?' Any ides what this guy is asking ? :D

Oh! did I mention? after reaching home I just went on to sleep without doing anything until buddy woke me up at 4 A.M :D

And I didn’t find a better time than this to think about what happened yesterday, and to quote the un-quote ..

"May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you and all your heart might desire."

You guys have a wonderful day!

Some Random...

It so happened with me many times and I am sure it happens with most of us. Yesterday was those rare days where I forced to be part of an argument. I was with some random friends and initially our discussion topic was something related to one of the fellow’s work but gradually the topic drifted to some nowhere. I knew, we were having good time and so those random friends justifying the meaning of random talks. Now there you go, the first 'she' abruptly pointed me saying – ‘I am became some kind of motivated speaker’, the intention was certainly not for a compliment. Me, no reaction to that comment, she understood I didn’t like that interruption and then there was another quick turn to our talk. The second 'she', was totally confused but blindly supporting her point of view. There was another 'he' equally sounding confused as the second 'she' and finding someone who can support his view point and his last hope was I. Before I thought of saying anything I looked at my watch and found it was already late and I need to rush to my work, there I go breaking everyone confusion about right/wrong, good/bad … “hey, guys we are getting late we will postpone our this random discussion for some other random time and lets hope it will have equally interesting things to take”.

So we all started moving… But there was something going on inside my mind, walking down the stairs I realized some people are so much so into themselves that they never able to understand the need of knowing what’s there beyond there thoughts. It is always so easy for someone to tune into a defensive mode and start going against something but never for something. Perhaps, they are looking at the ultimate victory or the success that brings the happiness to them. And the only way they found out to this is to prove rest of the world wrong so that they become right. I can't imagine life is only based upon good and happy things but can it be the last thing?

It is now 3.30 AM, and my alarm clock refuses to be silent (errr...). Thanks to you again buddy; you woke me up. Suddenly I recalled, I had ordered my dinner yesterday night. The guy delivered it at the said time and I received it too but .. I turned towards the table and there it is still waiting for my attention. Ah haaaa! Now I understood why I woke up so so early :)

Have a Good Day !

Reflections of the darkness

In the midst of a sleepless night, it amazed me … I was surprised to see the third eye capturing the reflection of the darkest of the night.

It had already seized the sparkling starts, there was no sign of moon and clouds had have extended their hands of support to fill the sky with dark, there was no way you can escape from them. was it the chaos ? or an extrem streach of a hope that involved all of them. And then the realization was not so far ... it had a shining that would help to follow the lost path and which also behold the silent story it wanted to tell each one of us 'including the ones who have not able to trace their path yet'. A story that many of us called as a dream, a dream that all of us wanted to see in our own reality and a reality that might give a meaning to the life of each one of us here.

P.S: I have taken the picture just in front of my house with the natural light available in the surrounding (actually there was no lights at all:)).

Journey of Life Continued ...

Life has its own way of give & take formulae ... In the path of happiness, change, growth and success. I wonder, unknowingly or knowingly we lose things which maybe have a greater value then whatever we already achieved or in the process of achieving them. It’s difficult to sight any reasons; perhaps we don’t know about them or just that we at times are so mindless.

Probably somewhere, we have proved ourselves better or because we didn’t allow the better part to happen, and in between we met with our dreams and followed it as if they are the only meaning of the life. It become complex in its own terms and every time we tried simplifying it, an indication that we are never left behind with them. We speeded up to break the boundaries of silence; we crashed our paths many times chasing the ‘one thing’ and finally slay the noise realizing the fact that the 'one thing' can only be 'love' or maybe it's the 'irony of love'.

We know, we are all part of this journey, a little while ago not knowing the beginning we started it together and now don't know where it leads, whether it will remain un-changed or change is part of it, and ever since I choose my travel path I realized that the journey has no end but many beginnings ...

Journey of life!

I am wondering about this journey of life which has so much so for us, to unfold things at every step and realize that things are hidden and unknown; probably beyond its actual scope.

I captured a moment in this picture at the entrance of some unknown village near B'lr.

The broken pieces of my life consisting the moments of my strengths & weakness … the tears & smiles ... loved & unloved … joy of begin there with the loved ones, the sorrow of going far away from them … the unknown smiling face of a friend, the known scary face of an enemy … the twists & turns … the ups & downs … the good & bad … the lost & found … the failures & successes, the darkness of sleepless nights & the brightness of sunny days and many many more of them. I believe all theses things in life always mark a change when it is least expected. A change that helped me to walk alone under the infinite sky, which given me a chance to learn and realize what I am today and brought me everything I wished sometime back, but then the very next moment it took away all those things it had given to me once. Perhaps an indication that life has found a different meaning, and you need to give it back the things that you really didn't find one by yourself. And the un-identified meaning remain as the sole guide to teach me how to move on with this endless journey once again. A reminder, that I have to travel the multifaceted paths until I identify the last destination and lose myself to it for the first time with the single piece of my soul.

To be continued …

The consequences, from Maktub

From last few days I am reading a book Called Maktub by Paulo Coelho. It happened so he is one of my most favorite authors so far and I really adore his writings. The depth of knowledge/information given in his books can’t be measured but everybody can realize it at some point of time. And Maktub as it means in Arab “it’s written”… is a book filled with short but inspiring stories.

The book says - The Arabs feel that "It is written" is not really a good translation, because, although everything is already written, God is compassionate, and wrote it all down just to help us.

The idea behind this post is to share some of those short stories that I came across while reading the book which is indeed not only interesting, thought provoking and points out the invariant value of life but also guides us to listen to our soul …

So here I am with the 1st story in my list and more to come in my next posts ...

The master says: "If a decision needs to be made, it is better to make it and deal with the consequences. You cannot know beforehand what those consequences will be. The arts of divination were developed in order to counsel people, never to predict the future. They provide good advice, but poor prophecy. "In one of the prayers that Jesus taught us, it says, 'God's will be done.' When His will causes a problem, it also presents a solution. If the arts of divination were able to predict the future, every soothsayer would be wealthy, married and content."

Dil Chata Hai (!!!)

I strongly believe – “Life is a meaningless search until you find the meaning of it, but it wouldn't give you any guarantee for its existence!”

I wouldn’t surprise myself; there are those some movies that show the different or rather changing meanings of the life. Does it mean life is changed for the every new meaning you discovered? This is never answered unless you are the one who live the life, dream for it and find out what it is … and ‘DCH’ as the short form says; is a perfect example of it.

A must watch movie :)

The Moment!

I always believe I have a reason to smile for 'today' because it is giving me a chance to learn and also I should thank the almighty for the simple reason that HE has given me this life. If things are always so simple and predictable then there is no point of expecting anything from this life; as you might have already lived it. What more left? What if nothing makes you to wait for the next moment?

If the time passes by you as if it will never change then probably you are living a life of a dead. If you are alive then you have to face the challenges that come with the day to day changes. It is impossible task to run from your life; you have to fight for it to make sure you live up to it, and for that unless you are ready to allow the change your life will never change, only the time will change which is un-stoppable. So expecting the unexpected is what gives a meaning to your dreams and fills the reality with all possible colors; the colors that describe the journey of your life.

For me it’s the journey and not the destination which sums up how the life is going to be ... ‘THE MOMENT’ – is where you live your life and it’s entirely yours and nobody can take it away from you or can change it for you. But there are times you prepare yourself may be mentally or physically for that ‘moment’, when it comes and stand right there in front of you sometime the meaning started changing and you see there are various other moments that effecting it as a whole, mindless or meaningless or just enough to knock you down. However, it’s completely in your hands to identify that ‘moment’ of yours where you want to live; in many ways it shows the character of an individual. And probably this is the time you see yourself at best making a decision and living up to it thereafter without the fear or the frustration chasing you.

If you are not able to part of the moment you are preparing for, then move on...; why blocking the way? its not yours anyway ... and backup plans are for people who live in a world of predications and fears; the fear of losing things and predicating the control over things that they never had …

I can associate the entire thought that is going inside my head right now with one of my favorite quotes - “I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.”- William Allen

Life never stops calling you !

In life; there are unanswered questions and there are unsolved problems ... There is a discovery of a ‘me’, a ‘you’ and then a realization of ‘we’... with things that redefine 'my' world and the way life moves on with it, closer and closer to the nameless destination. I wouldn’t surprise to see the destiny playing it's part and people following the broken meanings every time they have to believe life has given them yet another chance to describe themselves. And unknowingly they find the courage to face the challenge offered to them.

Every decision taken in this life either made me stronger than before or weaker there after; but the spirit of living up to it with every second passing by… helped me identifying ‘me’ and my life become more meaningful than ever.

Life is all about a Yes and a NO !!!

How I wonder each and every day life show us with something new, something different, may be something really special. And sometimes there are those beautiful hidden moments that our eyes fail to recognise, there are those smiles that fail to grasp our attention, there are those words that fail to reach our ears, there are those fragrances that fail to chase our nose and how many times a idea crossed the mind without even giving a hint of it.

Is that the ignorance or its something that we over shadowed by not knowing what it could be or its just that we don't know; what we don't know yet? I believe most of the time we lack the spirit of taking a truly courageous step in the life, and to mold it the way it’s directed to us rather then forcing it for a change what it is not.

And there was this thought in my mind the entire day … “Think before saying a ‘NO’ and think twice before saying a ‘Yes’. Life is all about a Yes and a NO, so why wasting your chance”. As such life doesn't give anybody a second chance and we are so bounded with momentum of the ticking clock that it's a difficult (probably impossible) task to go back and modify it by turning the clock back.

To add to my thoughts, coincidently, I read an article and found something that really echoing the state of mind, what I was thinking “Consider the postage stamp. It secures success through its ability to stick to one thing till it gets there”. Walking under the sky, taking up the challenge I decided; I will never let go a Yes as NO or a NO as a Yes; It’s my life and it’s never too late for me to catch up with it anytime if I missed something in-between. I was blessed yet again with the fading rays of the red colored sky that assured me, they are with me to show me the unknown paths ahead in my life... ensured me that I was not walking alone.

Whatever we think or see isn’t always what it is meant for …

When I powered on my desktop computer after long two and half years, I had this very old MS word document waiting for me to go for a final mode for saving … yet again it made me wondering about this man made marvelous creation . And I bow down to one to the biggest achievement of today’s science and technology, the 'computer'.

Now coming back to the document, it was holding a small story that I had received in my college mailbox as a forwarded mail... I don’t remember who was the originator of that mail, but I was the person who distributed it among my friend’s circle. I still remember the huge reply mails I got from some of the friends; I know they are too good in replying back/ giving feedback on such kind of creative or some imaginative stories for that matters. Anyways, those were the days that every such single mail/story becomes our point of discussion and ever since I thought of documenting it but never had a chance; and then blog about it when I started with one. Well, that small story was an initiative to put forward a message that “the love we give away is the only love we can keep with us”. There can be several other messages that this story might hold but it’s up to you to identify what message you got from the story?. Surely, it would help somebody to figure out the role of love in life and the people for whom we are living in this world, mean to say which really influence the very basic principles of life “caring & sharing”. Probably it can define the whole world for you at some point of time.

There is a reason always and at times there can never be a reason for things happening around you; whatever happens is happen for good and the people associates with us act as the source of the change. I have always a very strong believe that the things you do or get is directly or indirectly influenced by those people and nevertheless they are the gifted people that god has send to you in many different forms, irrespective of whether you term them as good or bad. And ofcourse, we feel very fortunate enough to have such people around us every time we have the meaning with us. This is true to the knowledge and I hope you all will find the story was worth reading.

Whatever we think or see isn’t always what it is meant for … so lets get started with the story …

Some time ago a man punished his 9-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of expensive gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became even more upset when the child pasted the gold paper so as to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." The father was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. He spoke to her in a harsh manner, "Don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside the package?"

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty. I blew kisses into it until it was full." The father was crushed. He fell on his knees and put his arms around His little girl, and he begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later and it is told that the father kept that gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. And whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems he would open the box and take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us as human beings have been given a golden box filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, family, friends and God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
