Chettinadu mansion was built in 1902 and it is now one among the spectacular palace in this reason.
Chettinad is also known as for its spicy and tasty food. Now that is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. The picture shown here is the kitchen inside the palace as told by our guide. Here is some more information that I found maybe useful for people how are planning to visit this place anytime, I added this peace of note after cuckoo’s comment for asking some details about it. So here you go …
This palace is converted into a museum and considered as the heritage home. It is now under the care of Archaeological Survey of India (I suppose), there were no one to give us the actual information. I don’t have much of the history to share from this place but overall its a different experience visiting the interior part of Tamil Nadu. The palace is open for public all the 7 days though I am not pretty sure about the timings (probably 10 Am to 6 PM). The good thing you will find here is that there is no entry fee :) This place is quite clam and close to it you will find another Chettinad Mansion which is operated as a Hotel now, so you can plan for a stay if you wish. Just to highlight a thing about this part of the world is that the food is really amazing, typically southie, spicy and tasty. The best time to visit this place maybe in the winter time say from nov to feb, otherwise anytime will be fine as long as you have things to fight with the hot weather out there :)

The journey was not over, on the way back to Bangalore there was another break and this time the place was Coutrallam. One of the other exciting part in that trip was traveling in the local buses, apart from a good weather and the some cool places.
Someone told me that the other side of the mountain is Kerala ... on the way to Coutrallam.
A close up view of the main fall.
An ideal place to catch one's breath.
Sudden rains, everyone around there changed their mind to find a way to a safe place except this fellow ... waiting for some unknown customers ...
In my terms ... Wow Wow !!! at 20:46 0 comments

At Kanyakumari, a unique symbol of unity and purity - is the Memorial of Swami Vivekananda, another symbol of the united aspiration. A place to visit and things to re-discover and there is a happy and harmonious blend of all the architectural beauty in the memorial.
There are pictures that no words can describe and there were moments that no camera can capture and rest follow here ...

The sacred monument, Vivekananda rock
The sea, the Sun and an ever lasting evening !!!
Each morning puts a man on trial and each evening passes judgment as the evening twilight fades away and invisible by the day.

Our first destination was Padmanabhapuram Palace, the historic place is around 15 K.Ms from Nagercoil. It was quite beautiful place and to add that not so crowded, so we found the right combination of time and space for clicking.
Front view of the palace ...
The secret window, you could see the escape route from here!!!
Forgot to count how many people can be accommodated inside this huge hall !!!
The external view of a hall.
Natyasala (Navaratri Mandap), a beautiful and interesting part of the palace.
Think about perfection !!!
Counting the pillars and doors :)
Shops just outside the palace's main gate, where you can find goodies to make your house as beautiful as the palace interiors.
And the journey continues ...
